Clare Brennan is the editor-in-chief of The Margin and writes the editor’s letter that opens every issue. Before founding the magazine, she spent 11 years running the features desk at the Halbridge Evening Ledger, where she was known for returning drafts with more questions than corrections. She is the author of The Long Table, a short book about how newsrooms argue. She lives in Halbridge, in an apartment above a ship chandlery near the old docks, edits every piece on paper in green pencil, and has never missed a closing night.
